Today’s recipe is for those who like Fenugreek (Methi) instead of vegetables in their meals. It is a nutritious meal prepared with Fenugreek seeds and rice (khichdi). It is very easy to make recipe, even if you are a beginner and don’t know anything about cooking.
Many people think that this is only for those to whom when some doctor suggests you have a normal meal, when they are not well or having stomach problems. But you can enjoy this meal even when you are fit and fine. You can include this in your diet plan also.
Fenugreek Khichdi is one of the best nutritious food loved by small kids and is best suitable for them. Basically, it is a North-Indian recipe, and you can serve this in your breakfast. It is mostly served in breakfast by the people in North-India.
Fenugreeks Seeds (Methi Dana) KhichdiCuisine: IndianDifficulty: Easy
It is a nutritious meal prepared with Fenugreek seeds and rice.
Rice – 2 cups
Fenugreek seeds – 2 tbsp
One chopped Onion
Salt – 1 tsp
2 Green chilies
Asli Ghee – 2 tbsp
Ginger Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Water – 4 cups
Mint and coriander leaves for garnishing
- Soak the fenugreek seeds in water for 10 mins.
- Chop onions and green chilies.
- Take a vessel and put it on a low medium flame.
- Add 2 tbsp of ghee, chopped onions, green chilies, and soaked fenugreek seeds into a vessel and stir well.
- Then add ginger garlic paste.
- Add 2 cups rice and pour water.
- Cook for 10 min on high flame and then 5 min on low flame.
- Garnish with mint and coriander leaves.
- Serve hot.
- Optional – You can add turmeric as required.
